| Duke City Derby Postpones 2009 Season |

DUKE CITY DERBY 2009 SEASON POSTPONED
Rio Rancho, New Mexico
The exciting new move to Rio Rancho's Santa Ana Star Center was well received, but like many other entertainment and sports enterprises, has fallen to the current US economic downturn. As of today, wheels are in motion to terminate the current Duke City season at the Star Center, through mutual agreement. Neither party bears ill will towards the other, and this weekend's games, featuring Missouri's visiting Arch Rival Roller Girls, will be held as scheduled. The June 20th bouts, which begin at 6:00pm, will be Duke City Derby's last in the new venue.
League founder and PR Maven, Nan Morningstar, reported "We want to thank all of our fans for supporting this bold venture, and assure them that this season is not over, but on hold. As Duke City Derby joins many leagues across the nation looking to downsize into smaller venues, we are drawing on our hard work and our 'never say die spirit' to bring us through this transition." The players are excited by the coming challenges, and dedicated to completing the 2009 season.
The Munecas Muertas will continue their 2009 season away from home in games against The Boston Derby Dames, the Kansas City Roller Warriors, and Sacramento, CA's Sacred City Derby Girls. Duke City fans can also look forward to the Munecas playing in this year's WFTDA Western Regional Championships in Denver, CO in October 2009. Calling Fresh Meat!

Tryouts are just around the proverbial corner so newbie training has begun in earnest! If you or any (lady you know) are interested come on out and SKATE!
Practices are held on:
Wednesdays at the Wells Park from 6:00 PM till 9:00 PM. We bring some loaner equipment to this practice but there is no guarantee that we will have enough OR your size. This is a full contact skills practice where you will learn game skills such a falling, hitting, and skate agility.
We will teach you everything you will need to know for your tryout and we want LOTS of new blood for the new season so come on out and SKATE!

Munecas Muertas go to Nationals!

The Munecas Muertas upset #1 ranked Kansas City in the 2008 Western Regional Tournament thereby earning themselves a spot in The Northwest Knockdown November 14-16 in POrtland Oregon!
Their first game out is against #1 in the east - Gotham Roller Girls!
